This week is a B Week!
Reading: We will begin Module 2 of Wit & Wisdom and complete lessons 1-5. We will read the fables "The Hare & the Tortoise" and "The Ants & the Grasshopper" along with beginning Seven Blind Mice. Skills: Determine the lessons of fables. Identify the main topic and retell key details of a text. Describe connections between two pieces of information about animals. Grammar: Verbs (determining shades of meaning with related words) and end punctuation. Writing: Students will write an informative paragraph including topic sentence, key details, and a conclusion sentence. Complete sentences including a capital letter and a period, capitalize proper nouns, and responding to the text through writing, Use time order words when writing (First, Next, Then, Last). Phonics:Review week: reading and spelling a-e, e-e, i-e, o-e, u-e and contractions Spelling Words: review Sight Words (up to this point): the, said, of, do, to, into, who, you, your, color, what, are, from, friend, their, there, come, some, does, goes, been, put, want, was, where, two, done, one, sure, don't, won't Math: Module 2 Lessons 1-5 (Topic A) Lesson 1: Solve word problems with three addends, two of which make ten. Lesson 2: Use the associative and communicative properties to make ten with three addends. Lesson 3-4: Make ten when one addend is 0. Lesson 5: Compare efficiency of counting on and making ten when one addend is 9. ** Students should be working very hard to mentally master their math facts up to 10** Comments are closed.
