Reading: We will be reading Seven Blind Mice
Skills: Generate and ask text dependent questions, sequence the components of an informational paragraph, analyze characters' actions, identify the lesson in the story, speak in complete sentences while responding to what others say in a socratic seminar. Spelling: We will be working with "glued" sound words for the next three weeks. These "glued" sounds are: ang, ing, ong, ung, ank, ink, onk, and unk. Sample spelling words for week 1: bang, ring, sang, long, song, lung, king, wing, hang, sing, fang, hung, thing, rang, sung, and gong. Spelling test is Friday, December 9th. Trick words: why, by, my, and try Grammar: Students will practice with using correct punctuation. Writing: write informative paragraph to demonstrate knowledge of the lesson in Seven Blind Mice and understanding of how to use informative paragraph structure- topic sentence, 3 details, conclusion sentence Math: Module 2 lessons 22-27 Lesson 22: Solve put togther/take apart with addend unknown word problems, and relate counting on to the take from ten strategy Lesson 23: Solve add to with change unknown problems, relating varied addition and subtraction strategies. Lesson 24: Strategize to solve take from with change unknown problems. Lesson 25: Strategize and apply understanding of the equal sign to solve equivalent expressions. Lesson 26: Identify 1 ten as a unit by renaming representations of 10. Lesson 27: Solve addition and subtraction problems decomposing and composing teen numbers 1 ten and some ones. **End of module 2 test is scheduled for December 9th. Sort and classify a variety of living and non living materials based on their characteristics.
