Reading: We will continue Module 2 of Wit & Wisdom and complete lessons 28-32 We will be reading Never Smile at a Monkey Skills: Identify author's point and supporting reasons, add conclusions to informative paragraphs, identify essential meaning of the text, informative writing Grammar: Prepositional phrases, categorization, shades of meaning Writing: Students will write an informative paragraph about the author's point including topic sentence, reasons that support the author's point, a conclusion sentence, and a preposition. Complete sentences including a capital letter and a period, capitalize proper nouns, and responding to the text through writing, Phonics: Spelling Words: us, six, yes, good, jump, five, name, drink, stacked, napkin, some*, was* Sight Words (up to this point): the, said, of, do, to, into, who, you, your, color, what, are, from, friend, their, there, come, some, does, goes, been, put, want, was, where, two, done, one, sure, don't, won't , should, would, could, brought, fought, bought, thought, they,people,eye, move,love,any,many,mother,other,another,brother,something,answer,were,early,earth,heard, word,work,world Math: Module 3 Lessons 1-6 (Topic A) End-of-Module Assessment Lesson 1- Compare length directly and consider the importance of aligning endpoints Lesson 2- Compare length using indirect comparison by finding objects longer than, shorter than, and equal in length to that of a string Lesson 3- Order 3 lengths using indirect comparison Lesson 4- Express the length of an object using centimeter cubes as length units to measure with no gaps or overlaps. Lesson 5- Rename and measure with centimeter cubes, using their standard unit name of centimeters Lesson 6- Order, measure, and compare the length of objects before and after measuring with centimeter cubes, solving compare with difference unknown word problems Students should be working hard to mentally master their math facts up to 20.
