Reading: Story: What Do You Do With a Tail Like This? Skills: Generate and answer questions using key details from the text, identify and use an index and a label, identifying the main topic and key details, and order verbs from softest to loudest using an informational passage, identify main topic and retell details, use text features to locate more information. Spelling: Students will learn the difference between a blend and a digraph. We will study these types of words for two weeks. There will be a spelling test on Friday, January 13. Sample spelling words: sent, must, best, drop, loft, block, damp, pluck, chimp, chomp, crash Trick Words: would could should Grammar: Identify frequently occurring prepositions Writing: Informative paragraphs Math: Module 3 lessons 1-3 Lesson 1: Compare length directly and consider the importance of aligning endpoints. Lesson 2: Compare length using indirect comparison by finding objects longer than, shorter than, and equal in length to that of a string. Lesson 3: Order three lengths using indirect comparison. Lesson 4: Express the length of an object using centimeter cubes as length units to measure with no gaps or overlaps. Science: We will be studing different animal classifications.
