Reading-This week we will be reviewing all the stories we have read in Module 2 to prepare for the end of module task. Students will make an animal trading card that includes an informative paragraph about an animal's unique features. We review skills taught with this module as well as vocabulary. Students will take a direct vocabulary assessment on Monday or Tuesday.
Spelling- We will continue working with closed vs. open syllable words. There will be a spelling test on Friday, Jan. 27. Sample words: held, wilt, smog, flash, stop, grass, cliffs, dress, steps, drums, clicks, camps, champs, belts, went Trick words: see between each Grammar: We will review prepositions and prepositional phrases. Writing: Informative paragraphs and making a trading card. Math: Module 3 lesson 13: Ask and answer varied word problem types about a data set with three categories. ***There will be an end of module test on Tuesday, Jan. 24. We will begin Module 4 lessons 1-3 Lesson 1: Compare the efficiency of counting by ones and counting by tens Lesson 2: Use the place value chart to record and name tens and ones within a two-digit number Lesson 3: Interpret two-digit numbers as either tens and some ones or as all ones Science: Students will compare and describe features of day and night and realize that the sun can only be seen during the day, while the moon can be seen at night and sometimes during the day. Vocabulary words: sun, moon, day, night, rotate, and revolution Social Studies: Identify the correct city, country, Mayor, Governor, and President and explain roles in government.
