Reading- Story: Owl at Home, "The Guest" and Brave Irene
Skills: Determine the central message of "The Guest,"Describe characteristics of books that tell stories, demonstrate understanding of grade level vocabulary, and identify sensory and feeling words. Grammar: verb tenses and adjectives Writing: Write an original story about Owl in the present tense, revise writing by using future tense Spelling- We will continue studying vowel cononsant e words for two more weeks. There will be a spelling test on Friday, March 10. Sample spelling words: state, scrape, throne, spoke, lake, prize, rope, skate, cake, choke, snake, joke, poke, cane, quake, tune, slide, trade, fire, whale, prune, white, bake, like, grape Trick words: friend, other, another, none, nothing Math: Module 4 lessons 20-24 Lessons 20-21: Recognize and make use of part-whole relationships within tape diagrams when solving a variety of problem types. Lesson 22: Write word problems of varied types Lesson 23: Interpret two-digit numbers as tens and ones, including cases with more than 9 ones Lesson 24: Add a pair of two digit numbers when the ones digits have a sum less that or equal to 10 Social Studies: We will study about fossils this week.
